From Conservapedia

Gentlemen Prefer Blondes (1953) is a musical comedy movie based on a Broadway production (1949). It is the only film in which Marilyn Monroe and Jane Russell co-starred, and they became good friends as a result. Russell was the bigger star at the time, and reportedly earned much bigger fee ($200,000) for this film than the newcomer Monroe did.

The singing of "Diamonds Are a Girl's Best Friend" by Marilyn Monroe from this film is a famous scene in Hollywood history.

This movie was moderately successful, garnering $5.3M in box office revenue on $2.3M in its production budget. It ranked 7th in box office receipts among movies in 1953.

Critics praised the performances by Russell and Monroe, even when less impressed by the overall movie.
