Vancouver Canucks

The Vancouver Canucks are a professional ice hockey team based in Vancouver, British Columbia. The Canucks joined the NHL in the expansion of 1970, but before this the team first began play in 1945 in the old amateur (later minor pro) Pacific Coast Hockey League, which evolved into the original Western Hockey League in 1952. The Canucks play in the Pacific Division of the Western Conference at Rogers Arena. The Canucks have never won the Stanley Cup but made it to the Stanley Cup finals in 1982, 1994 and 2011. The current captain of the Canucks is Bo Horvat.

Canuck is slang for a Canadian person and is used in a number of other Canadian sporting team names and elsewhere in Canadian Industry.
