The Baltimore Ravens are a National Football League (NFL) team based in Baltimore, Maryland. They are members of the American Football Conference (AFC) North Division.
The Ravens were created in 1996 when Cleveland Browns owner Art Modell decided to move the Browns from Cleveland, Ohio to Baltimore; however, as part of the move, all Browns team records remained in Cleveland, and are now part of the new franchise's history. The team name comes from the famous poem "The Raven", written by the famous American poet Edgar Allen Poe who was from Baltimore.
In their history as a team they have won both of their appearances in Super Bowls, in Super Bowl XXXV against the New York Giants and in 2013 against the San Francisco 49ers; they are one of two teams to participate in more than one Super Bowl without ever losing (the Tampa Bay Buccaneers are the other).
