Barod is a small village of 1102 hectares in Khandar Tehsil in Sawai Madhopur district, also known for Ranthambore National Park in the State of Rajasthan, India.[2] The village is administrated by a sarpanch who is elected representative of the village by the local elections. Barod depends on SAWAI MADHOPUR, the nearest town for all major economic activities.[3] The village has government-provided water facilities that include Two taps, One Well supply, Two tanks, Two tubewells, and One handpump. The villagers also acquire water from some of the natural water sources - One river, Two canals and Two springs. Barod is also surrounded by Two lakes. The population of the village depends on the source of drinking water during summer on Handpump. Barod's pin code is 322025[4], and village code is 01338400. The area of Barod is segregated as 446 hectares irrigated area, 380 hectares unirrigated, the 222 hectare area under culturable waste (including gauchar and groves), and remaining 54 hectare area not available for cultivation.
Barod has One post office (Barod B.O). The village is connected with a single bus service. Barod has Two banks and Two credit societies for the regulation of economic activity. The village is also equipped with Two recreational centers.

Barod is a census village in the district of Sawai Madhopur, Rajasthan. The village has a total population of 1965 and has total administration over 367 houses which are connected to supplies basic amenities like water and sewerage.
- Barod has 311 children, 165 boys and 146 girls.
- Scheduled caste counts for 967 (49.21%) males constitute 536 (27.28%) of the population and females 431 (21.93%).
- Scheduled tribe counts for 735 (37.40%) males constitute 372 (18.93%) of the population and females 363 (18.47%).

Employment[edit]
According to a census 2011 report, 1054 people of the total population are employed. The workforce is 548 male, 506 female with 861 (81.69%) of all workers being employed full-time, this includes 489 males and 372 females. 455 males and 349 females are considered as the main cultivators with the help of 18 male and 15 female agricultural labor. 193 people are reported to work for a marginal period of time in the year.
They depend on the agricultural markets (Mandi) of the nearby towns of Sawai Madhopur to sell earthen pot and make their living.
