Barod is a small village of 1102 hectares in Khandar Tehsil in Sawai Madhopur district, also known for Ranthambore National Park in the State of Rajasthan, India.[2] The village is administrated by a sarpanch who is elected representative of the village by the local elections. Barod depends on SAWAI MADHOPUR, the nearest town for all major economic activities.[3] The village has government-provided water facilities that include Two taps, One Well supply, Two tanks, Two tubewells, and One handpump. The villagers also acquire water from some of the natural water sources - One river, Two canals and Two springs. Barod is also surrounded by Two lakes. The population of the village depends on the source of drinking water during summer on Handpump. Barod's pin code is 322025[4], and village code is 01338400. The area of Barod is segregated as 446 hectares irrigated area, 380 hectares unirrigated, the 222 hectare area under culturable waste (including gauchar and groves), and remaining 54 hectare area not available for cultivation.

They depend on the agricultural markets (Mandi) of the nearby towns of Sawai Madhopur to sell earthen pot and make their living.
