Bride and groom signing the book.jpg

A wedding is a ceremony uniting a man and woman in matrimony. The man is called the groom and the woman is called the bride. Weddings typically involve the exchange of vows and rings between the marrying parties.

The tradition of the diamond engagement ring dates back to the 1400s, coming from Archduke Maximillian of Austria who gave his fiancée, Mary of Burgundy, a diamond ring.[1]
