Specimen

From Conservapedia

A specimen in trademark law for goods sold is an image of the mark on the goods themselves, or on a tag, label, or packaging, which shows the applied-for trademark in a way that consumers would see it. Not all uses of marks on goods are acceptable, as ornamental images or repeatedly patterns will be rejected as a specimen. Advertising and brochures is not acceptable either.

For trademarks on services, such as the requirement of the United States Patent and Trademark Office is slightly different. Advertising or market is acceptable if the specimen references the services. Specimens must show both the mark and the services.

Digitally altered specimens or drawings are not acceptable as specimens.
