Suspect

A suspect (noun) is someone who is thought to have committed a crime. There can be many suspects to a crime, both simultaneously and over the course of a police investigation.

When used as a verb, the word suspect means to consider something (with little or no evidence) to be true or probable; alternatively, it can reference distrust regarding a person or object.
