Lifeboat (Film)

From Conservapedia

Lifeboat, the 1944 film, is a single-set drama directed by Alfred Hitchcock based in his storyline idea, using a screenplay written by John Steinbeck. It received three Academy Award nominations and no Oscars.

Steinbeck asked that his name be removed from the project after some criticized the portrayal of strength in the German (Nazi) character amid disorganized weakness by the American side. The movie studio withheld promotion of the film due to the criticism.

This stands apart from Hitchcock's other work, and was motivated by a desire to do something for the World War II effort.[1] Hitchcock attempts to portray a struggle between good and evil but some felt that the wrong side was portrayed with too much effectiveness.
