The Chicago Cubs are a Major League Baseball team based in Chicago, Illinois. Along with the Atlanta Braves, they are the only founding members of the National League that are still playing in that league. They currently play in and are the two-time defending champions of the National League's Central Division. The Cubs have been based in Chicago since their inception as the Chicago White Stockings in 1870, founded in response to the success of the all-professional Cincinnati Red Stockings.

The Chicago Cubs are referred to as "North Siders" because they have played their home games at Wrigley Field since 1916, although the stadium had held previous names before 1926. Previously, they played in Municipal Stadium.

Ernie Banks (January 31, 1931 – January 23, 2015) was an eleven time All Star and spent his entire Major League Baseball career with the Chicago Cubs. He is considered one of the best baseball players in history.

The team is currently managed by Dale Sveum.

1907-08 would be the last time the Cubs would win the World Series, the longest championship drought in major professional sports, and have not played in the Series since 1945, when they lost to the Detroit Tigers. Ever since the Boston Red Sox broke their "curse" with their 2004 championship win, the Cubs are considered the most cursed team in professional sports. However, this was broken in 2016, when the Cubs beat the Cleveland Indians to win their first World Series in 108 years.

Rivals of the Cubs include the St. Louis Cardinals (its major rival), Chicago White Sox, and Milwaukee Brewers.

The Cubs won the 2016 World Series, the first time it had done so in 108 years.[1] The World Series MVP, Ben Zobrist, is a strong Christian and used his fame and his team's victory to spread the gospel.[2][3] That important fact was not reported by the mainstream media.
