Orleans

Orléans is a walled city in central France. Orléans is probably most famous for being besieged by the armies of Henry VI of England. During which Joan of Arc is said to have saved Orléans from near certain capture.

The city, approx. 150 km away from Paris, is situated on the banks of the river Loire and is also famous for its vinegar.

The city of New Orleans is names after Orléans by the French who once inhabited that area.
