Civil Lawsuit

From Conservapedia

A civil lawsuit, or civil action, begins when a complaint is filed in court by one or more persons or entities (plaintiff(s)) against one or more defendants. A civil lawsuit differs greatly from a criminal law. A criminal case is a case filed against a person for alleged violation of the criminal laws, every other lawsuit is a civil lawsuit.
