Road Rage

Road rage is violent, retaliatory behavior by a car driver in response to the stress of long commutes, frustrating traffic jams, and perceived rude, bad, or aggressive driving by others.^[1]

Due to the anger displayed, weapons can be, and are used in incidents of road rage. Drivers have been known to pull out: guns or knives, crowbars, tools, baseball bats, and tree branches to employ as weapons as outputs of road rage, and there have been incidents in which the car itself has been used. The tragic results are damaged vehicles, injured or killed people, and the perpetrators spending many years to life in prison. Of course, it must be admitted that if the other driver were carrying a legally owned gun, many if not all of these events could have been prevented.

"10,037 incidents nationwide from 1990 to 1996 in which aggressive drivers intentionally killed or hurt people or had tried to do so. More than 200 people died in the incidents, and more than 12,000 were injured. They were shot, stabbed, beaten and run over, among other modes of attack."^[2]
