Belle Of Boston

Belle of Boston (Id. No. 3071)--an auxiliary schooner built at Boston, Mass., in 1891—was acquired by the Navy on a free lease from Mr. Mather A. Abbott of New Haven, Conn., in July 1918 and commissioned on 13 July 1918.

She was attached to the 2d Naval District and performed patrol duty in those waters through the end of World War I. On 11 January 1919, Belle of Boston was returned to Mr. Abbott.[1]
