Umri is a small village of 7 hectares in Ramnagar Tehsil in Barabanki district in the State of Uttar Pradesh, India.[2] The village is administrated by a sarpanch who is elected representative of the village by the local elections. Umri depends on Fatehpur (NP) , the nearest town for all major economic activities.[3] The village has government-provided water facilities that include One tap, One Well supply and One handpump. The villagers also acquire water from some of the natural water sources. The population of the village depends on the source of drinking water during summer on Tap. Umri's pin code is 225201[4], and village code is 05719000. The area of Umri is segregated as 75 hectares irrigated area, 29 hectares unirrigated area. the 28 hectare area under culturable waste (including gauchar and groves) and remaining 22 hectare area not available for cultivation.

Umri has Two banks and Two credit societies for the regulation of economic activity. The village is also equipped with Two recreational centers.

The village has an uninterrupted 24 hours electric supply from a power grid.

Demographics[edit]

Umri is a census village in the district of Barabanki, Uttar Pradesh. The village has a total population of 860 and has total administration over 160 houses which are connected to supplies basic amenities like water and sewerage.

  • Umri has 143 children, 73 boys and 70 girls.
  • Scheduled caste counts for 151 (17.56%) males constitute 84 (9.77%) of the population and females 67 (7.79%).

According to a census 2011 report, 254 people of the total population are employed. The workforce is 236 male, 18 female with 241 (94.88%) of all workers being employed full-time, this includes 224 males and 17 females. 146 males and 12 females are considered as the main cultivators with the help of 59 male and 3 female agricultural labor. 13 people are reported to work for a marginal period of time in the year.

They depend on the agricultural markets (Mandi) of the nearby towns of Fatehpur (NP) and Barabanki to sell agricultural produce and make their living.
