Couri is a small village of 225 hectares in Handia Tehsil in Allahabad district in the State of Uttar Pradesh, India.[2] The village is administrated by a sarpanch who is elected representative of the village by the local elections. Couri depends on DHANUPUR, the nearest town for all major economic activities.[3] The village has government-provided water facilities that include One tap, One Well supply and One handpump. The villagers also acquire water from some of the natural water sources. The population of the village depends on the source of drinking water during summer on Handpump. Couri's pin code is 212401[4], and village code is 05577900. The area of Couri is segregated as 148 hectares irrigated area, 27 hectares unirrigated area. the 30 hectare area under culturable waste (including gauchar and groves), and remaining 20 hectare area not available for cultivation.
Couri has One public telephone. Couri has Two banks and Two credit societies for the regulation of economic activity. The village is also equipped with Two recreational centers.
The village has an uninterrupted 24 hours electric supply from a power grid.

Couri is a census village in the district of Allahabad, Uttar Pradesh. The village has a total population of 1860 and has total administration over 287 houses which are connected to supplies basic amenities like water and sewerage.

Employment[edit]
According to a census 2011 report, 730 people of the total population are employed. The workforce is 344 male, 386 female with 593 (81.23%) of all workers being employed full-time, this includes 300 males and 293 females. 187 males and 116 females are considered as the main cultivators with the help of 90 male and 171 female agricultural labor. 137 people are reported to work for a marginal period of time in the year.
They depend on the agricultural markets (Mandi) of the nearby towns of DHANUPUR and Allahabad to sell agricultural produce and make their living.
