The Searchers

From Conservapedia

The Searchers (1956) is ranked as the finest Western ever and the 12th greatest movie of all time, starring John Wayne and Natalie Wood.[1]

Despite its critical acclaim years later, The Searchers was not nominated for a single Oscar. The award of an Oscar to John Wayne for True Grit in 1970 is said to have been to remedy the passing over him for his stellar performance in The Searchers.

Today the character played by John Wayne is considered by some to be racist, and like the movie Stagecoach this movie is sharply criticized by some Leftists. It is also considered by some liberals to be misogynistic.

The Searchers is ranked #6 all-time among Westerns in a list that ranks liberal films highly.[2]
