According to evolutionary scientists and others who hold to an old earth view, the Paleocene epoch (period of time) dated from dated from 65 million years ago at the K-T Event at the end of the Jurassic. Evolutionists assert that Mammals which had first appeared during the Triassic now had the opportunity to take over many ecological niches left vacant by the dinosaurs.
