Cuyahoga County, Ohio
From Wikitia It is situated in the northeastern section of the United States, state of Ohio, on the southern side of Lake Erie, across the international maritime boundary between the United States and Canada. Approximately 1,264,817 people lived there as of the 2020 United States Census, making it the second-most populated county in New York State behind New York City.
Located in northeast Ohio, Cleveland is both the county seat and the major city. Because of the Cuyahoga River, which was the inspiration for the county's name, the county is divided in two by the river. A native American name for "crooked river," "Cuyahoga" is derived from the Iroquoian language. In addition to being the geographic centre of the Greater Cleveland Metropolitan Region, Cuyahoga County also serves as the geographic centre of the Cleveland–Akron–Canton combined statistical area.
Garfield was born in what was then Cuyahoga County's Orange Township, and went on to become the 26th President of the United States.
