Mahedu is a small village of 418.4 hectares in Banda Tehsil in Banda district in the State of Uttar Pradesh, India.^[2] The village is administrated by a sarpanch who is elected representative of the village by the local elections. Mahedu depends on Tindwari (NP), the nearest town for all major economic activities.^[3] The village has government-provided water facilities that include One Well supply, One tubewell and One handpump. The villagers also acquire water from some of the natural water sources - One river,One canal. The population of the village depends on the source of drinking water during summer on Well. Mahedu's pin code is 210123^[4], and village code is 04788600. The area of Mahedu is segregated as 245.257 hectares irrigated area. the 163.269 hectare area under culturable waste (including gauchar and groves).

Mahedu is a census village in the district of Banda, Uttar Pradesh. The village has a total population of 2077 and has total administration over 397 houses which are connected to supplies basic amenities like water and sewerage.

The workforce is 603 male, 119 female with 441 (61.08%) of all workers being employed full-time, this includes 382 males and 59 females. 174 males and 4 females are considered as the main cultivators with the help of 151 male and 33 female agricultural labor. 281 people are reported to work for a marginal period of time in the year.

They depend on the agricultural markets (Mandi) of the nearby towns of Tindwari (NP) and Banda to sell agricultural produce and make their living.
