Certificate Of Citizenship

The Certificate of citizenship is an official document certifying the individual is a legal resident of the country. The Certificate of citizenship is not the same as a Birth certificate. Each country has different laws that must be followed before applicants can receive the Certificate of citizenship.

Certificate of US Citizenship[edit]

The Certificate of US Citizenship (form N-560 or N-561) is a document issued by the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Service (USCIS) as proof of U.S. citizenship. ^[1]

Canadian Citizenship Certificate[edit]

The Canadian Citizenship Certificate is a small card that residents can use to prove that they are a Canadian citizen.

To receive a Canadian citizenship certificate:

1. Apply for citizenship.
2. Take the citizenship test, if you are between the ages of 18 and 54.
3. Attend a citizenship ceremony, if you are 14 or older. Once they have taken the oath of citizenship at a ceremony, they become a Canadian citizen. New citizens receive their certificate of citizenship at the ceremony.^[2]
