Democratic Party (Hong Kong)

The Democratic Party (民主党) is one of the major political parties in the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region. It has a political platform supporting the introduction of universal suffrage in Hong Kong at the earliest possible date. It is also well known for defending the rule of law and human rights in Hong Kong. It mainly draws its support from lower and middle class voters and is one of the largest parties represented in Hong Kong's Legislative Council.
