Swiss Guards

Swiss Guards are an elite corps of Swiss soldiers assigned to provide dedicated security-duty for the safety and defense of the Pope in Vatican City. They are his official bodyguard. Only a Swiss national who exemplifies the finest qualities of military ability and discipline and Christian devotion to God may qualify for service in the Swiss Guards.
