Montane

Montane (Latin: montanus "mountain") refers to a relatively narrow altitudinal zone of a mountainous region, just below the timberline, characterized by having cool, moist temperatures and usually dominated by evergreen trees.^[1] Endemism is often very high within the montane zone.
