Kaikatsu Frontier Inc. is a Japanese company based in Yokohama, that operates the karaoke box "Cote d'Azur", internet/manga cafe "Kaikatsu Club", and the fitness club "Kaikatsu Club FiT24", among others.

Kaikatsu Frontier is best known for Kaikatsu Club, which is one of Japan's largest internet/manga cafe chains, with over 400 stores nationwide..^[1] Locations vary from metropolises like Tokyo to small and relatively removed cities like Yokote.

• 1998, March - Ceased operations in wedding dress retail and rental
• 2000, August - Changed name to Cote d'Azur Inc.
• 2000, October - Spun off from Aoki International (now Aoki Holdings) and took over 13 shops, which included karaoke box establishments
• 2002, July - Changed name to Valic Inc.
• 2003, July - What would become Composite Internet/manga Cafe no.1 (Kaikatsu Club Route 14 Makuharinishi Shop) opens
• 2003, December 24th - Initial public offering

Cote d'Azur[edit]

• Named after Côte d'Azur, the coastline of the southeast corner of France.
• Karaoke machines are mostly Dam (Live Dam, Live Dam Stadium, Live Dam Ai) and Joysound (Joysound Max, Max2, Max Go)
• Payable by credit card.
• Only some locations have women only rooms.

Kaikatsu Club[edit]

• All stores operate 24 hours, and most but not all are staffed 24 hours.
• Options include "All you can drink bar" (which is just a seat at a table), booth (with flat and reclining chair options), and a completely locked room ^[3].
• In addition to all-you-can-drink/eat beverages and ice cream, some locations also offer toast and margarine for breakfast^[4]
• Stores vary from several floors in a shared building (usually in the a big city) to standalone buildings (usually in small secondary cities). The former tend to be located near train stations, inside busy shopping arcades, or areas known for night life. They are often located near separate karaoke establishments, thus do not have their own karaoke boxes. The latter tend to be located along major roads and cater more towards motorists, are usually farther away from train stations, and have parking lots and its own karaoke inside.
• All stores have the same signature background music playlist, which varies to suit the time of day (whether most people would be awake or asleep).
• There is a student discount, which automatically applies to purchases after it is added to an account
