Salgavan is a small village of 165.3 hectares in Atrauli Tehsil in Aligarh district in the State of Uttar Pradesh, India.[2] The village is administrated by a sarpanch who is elected representative of the village by the local elections. Salgavan depends on Chharra Rafatpu, the nearest town for all major economic activities.[3] The village has government-provided water facilities that include One Well supply and One handpump. The villagers also acquire water from some of the natural water sources. The population of the village depends on the source of drinking water during summer on Handpump. Salgavan's pin code is 202130[4], and village code is 01345000. The area of Salgavan is segregated as 138 hectares irrigated area, 7 hectares unirrigated area. the 1 hectare area under culturable waste (including gauchar and groves), and remaining 15.3 hectare area not available for cultivation.

Salgavan has Two banks and Two credit societies for the regulation of economic activity. The village is also equipped with Two recreational centers.

The village has an uninterrupted 24 hours electric supply from a power grid.

Salgavan is a census village in the district of Aligarh, Uttar Pradesh. The village has a total population of 1455 and has total administration over 243 houses which are connected to supplies basic amenities like water and sewerage.

  • Scheduled caste counts for 722 (49.62%) males constitute 394 (27.08%) of the population and females 328 (22.54%).

They depend on the agricultural markets (Mandi) of the nearby towns of Chharra Rafatpu and Aligarh to sell agricultural produce and make their living.
