Physical culture is the practice and promotion of muscular growth, strength and health through exercise techniques. Some of this techniques are resistance training, bodybuilding, sports, stretching and posture correction.

Some of the first Physical culturist were Eugen Sandow, William Muldoon, Bernarr Macfadden and Edmond Desbonnet.

Steve Reeves was the first bodybuilder to have mass public appeal. Arnold Schwarzenegger won the Mr. Olympia from 1970 to 1975 and again in 1980. In the last years Ronnie Coleman has won several Mr. Olympia titles.
