Willy Wonka

Willy Wonka is a fictional candyman whose magical factory is the setting for Charlie and the Chocolate Factory by Roald Dahl. The children's book has been adapted for cinema twice, once starring Gene Wilder and once with Johnny Depp in the Willy Wonka role. The first movie was a comedy with memorable songs. "Oompa Loompa" criticized naughty children and pointed the finger of responsibility for their mischievous nature on their parents. The second film was indelibly stamped with director Tim Burton's maverick vision, and Wonka was depicted as a reclusive, emotionally stunted eccentric.
