The Federated States of Novorossiya (New Russia) was a self-claimed independent state in Ukraine, that was internationally not recognized. It was officially declared on May 24, 2014 by the political party New Russia Party and consisted of the Donetsk People's Republic and the Lugansk People's Republic. Its official army was the United Armed Forces of Novorossiya.

The name Novorossiya stands for New Russia and was first used in the 18th century, when Ukraine was a part of Russia.

In May 2015 Novorossiya was dissolved. Both republics within the former Novorossiya still exist.
