Pyrgos

Pyrgos, a town of Greece, in the province of Elis and Achaea, 43 m. S.S.W. of Patras. It is the third town in importance in the Peloponnesus, and is connected with its harbour, Katakolon, 71 m. distant, and also with Patras and Olympia, by rail. It has frequently been injured by earthquakes. Pop. (1907), 13,690.
