• Discovery Channel — a broadcast channel that airs equal parts science and pseudoscience, a perverse rendering of the Fairness Doctrine
• Discovery doctrine — the long history of the Catholic Church endorsing a type of colonial reasoning for laying claim to a land that one has "discovered", even though people already live there
• Discovery Institute — a think tank advocating creationism
• Multiple discovery — a type of coincidence that occurs when more than one person independently makes a scientific or technological discovery at about the same time, the antithesis of the Great man theory
