Uluru (Ayer's Rock) often described as a monolith is actually the second biggest monadnock in the world (after Mount Augustus, Western Australia), culminating at 348 meters.
Uluru attract more than 400,000 tourist per year. While climbing is discouraged for ecological and cultural reasons, it is not forbidden.
Uluru is a sacred site for Pitjantjatjara and Yankunytjatjara people. They are regularly asking for banning the climb.
