Dependent Territories

From Conservapedia

A dependent territory is a country or territory administered by another country, usually in a different geographical location. Another word for a dependent territory is colony or overseas territory. Dependent territories often have their own government with near complete local autonomy. Defence and foreign relations are normally handled by the territory's sovereign power.

Examples of dependent territories include Gibraltar, New Caledonia and Bermuda.
