Saragossa Opening

From Conservapedia

The Saragossa Opening by White in chess is 1. c3, which pushes the queen bishop's pawn forward by only one space. That blocks White's own pawn from moving there, but gives the queen a way to advance on the diagonal.

Recommended responses by Black are 1... d5, 1...e5, or even 1...Nf6.

This opening was developed at a chess club in Spain, which once even had a tournament requiring participants to use it.
