Aditya Modak (born 28 October 28 1988) is an Indian classical singer and film actor, known for his role in the 2020 film The Disciple (2020 film).[1][2][3] He is also a classical musician and playback singer, known for the Marathi language serial Saare Tujhyachsathi.
Aditya was exposed to classical music at the tender age of 2 years at a Child care. His working parents put him in a creche at the house of a learned classical music teacher to inculcate musical values starting in childhood. Aditya began his music lessons from his first Guru Pt. Chandrakant Parker and later also studied for a few years under Pt. Pradeep Dhond.[4] His professional music career and learning started in the year 2000 when he started learning from the renowned Gwalior gharana vocalist and Guru Dr. Ram Deshpande.[5]
Aditya has performed in many prestigious classical music conferences and events since the age of 18.[6] He started his career at a concert at The Vedic Heritage,[7] Hempstead, United States which was organized by Sangeet Martand Jasraj|Pt. Jasraj in 2008. After that, he has performed at many classical music festivals including Vasantrao Deshpande,[8][9] Kashi Sangeet Mahotsav, Dadar Matunga Cultural Centre, National Centre for the Performing Arts (India)|National Centre for Performing Arts, Nehru Centre, and Gwalior Sangeet Samaroha. He has also performed in New York and Louisville, Kentucky.
Aditya also has many scholarships to his credit including Sawai Gandharva Scholarship, the National Scholarship, and Pt. Bhimsen Joshi Scholarship.
Aditya has received many awards in the field of classical music including the Chaturang Foundation Award,[10] Dr. Vasantrao Deshpande Award, Dr. Shrirang Sangoram Award and Yuva Sangeet Puraskar, Hempstead, United States.
Aditya appeared at the Venice Film Festival in 2020 for the world premiere of film The Disciple (2020 film).[11][12]
