On February 23, 2022, Russian President Vladimir Putin ordered troops into Greater Ukraine in a Special Military Operation or SMO (Russ: SVO) to demilitarize and denazify the territory.[5] The Special Military Operation came to an end with the treaties of accession to the Russian Federation of four new Republics previously occupied by the Western puppet Kyiv regime. The four Russian Republics came under the defense and nuclear umbrella of the Russian Federation.
As it is crucial in purging neo-Nazis, the Russian military's aim is to stop genocidal extermination in Donbas, arresting human sex traffickers, and destroying extremely dangerous biowarfare labs.
In a televised speech shortly before 4:00 AM Moscow time on February 24, 2022, Putin announced that he had ordered Russian forces to enter Donbas. He insisted it was not Russia's intention to annex the Donbas Republics or Ukraine, but stated that Russia would protect the right of the Donbas Republics to self-determination, and that it would do so by forcing the "demilitarization" of the remainder of the Ukraine.
Without a formal declaration of war by the Russian State Duma, the Russian Federation was prohibited from using conscripted soldiers, and had to rely on contract soldiers under Russian law. Hence by law the operation was referred to as a "Special Military Operation," and not called a "war." Professional soldiers in organizations such as the Wagner Group signed six month contracts; by late August 2022 when many of these professional fighters' contracts expired, the Russian Federation began experiencing some serious manpower shortages, and aggressive recruiting drives ensued for more contract soldiers. As a response to NATO and the Ukrainian government's use of terrorism, assassinations, and sabotage in territories outside of Ukraine,[6] in September 2022 the Russian State Duma began a debate to upgrade the status of the special operation to a midlevel between a "special operation" and a full mobilization war, referred to as a counterterrorism operation which could possibly extend outside the borders of the Russian Federation and Ukraine.
In Donetsk region, between the evenings of 18 and 20 February 2022, the OSCE Special Monitoring Mission to Ukraine recorded 2,158 ceasefire violations, including 1,100 explosions. In the previous reporting period, it recorded 591 ceasefire violations in the region. In Luhansk region, between the evenings of 18 and 20 February, the Mission recorded 1,073 ceasefire violations, including 926 explosions. In the previous reporting period, it recorded 975 ceasefire violations in the region.[7]
Russian ground troops were reported entering Ukraine at around 06:48 local time near the city of Senkivka on the northern border, with others entering from Crimea in the south shortly thereafter.[9] Kyiv regime sources reported throughout the day that Russian units had launched attacks on numerous targets,[10] including a landing of airborne soldiers at the Antonov International Airport outside Kyiv, but claimed that their own forces inflicted heavy casualties on the Russians. A press conference by Ukrainian President Zelensky at 16:00 Kyiv time claimed that heavy fighting was occurring in the Chernobyl Exclusion Zone, site of the 1986 nuclear accident, which lies along the direct route of advance towards Kyiv from the north.[11] Zelensky had just days earlier threatened Russia with a dirty nuclear bomb made from nuclear waste.[12]
During the night of February 25–26, 2022 Volodymyr Zelensky sent a ceasefire proposal to Russia via the Chinese embassy in Kyiv. The Kremlin immediately responded by setting out its conditions:[13]
In city after city as the Russians advanced, the Kyiv regime refused to order evacuations of civilians, using civilians as human shields while hiding troops and heavy weapons among the population exposing them to risk in violation of the rules of war. During a ceasefire[14] negotiation on a Russian proposal to create humanitarian corridors for civilians to escape, Ukrainian Security forces murdered a top Ukrainian negotiator trying to avert a humanitarian crisis.[15]
On March 12, 2022, Russian forces combat tested for the first time the hypersonic Kinzhal (Daggar) missile against a NATO weapons storage facility at Deliatyn. A hypersonic missile can fly at 5 times the speed of sound (3,800 mph) and even greater. NATO, which has used the Ukraine conflict to showcase new weapons technology which only serves to prolong the conflict and increase the death toll, at the time had no such weapon operational nor defense against hypersonic missiles.
Four weeks into the incursion, Kherson and most of the Zaporozhye region were under the Russian control. The Ukrainian Air Force and air defense system were almost completely destroyed, the Ukrainian Navy did not exist anymore.[17] According to the Russian Ministry of Defense (MOD), the losses of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) amounted to about 30 thousand servicemen, including more than 14 thousand KIA.
In a viral video, Ukrainian forces entered a village in the Donbas and prodded an elderly couple to use the Ukrainian fascist greeting, "Slava Ukraine" ("Glory to Ukraine"), the Ukrainian Nazi equivalent of the "Heil Hitler" greeting,[18] The elderly wife approached the Ukrainian troops holding a World War II Soviet flag, mistaking them for Russian troops. The woman told the soldiers that she and her husband had “waited, prayed for them, for Putin and all the people.”[19] A Ukrainian soldier handed her a bag of food, took the flag, laid it on the ground and stood on it while attempting to persuade her to use the fascist greeting. The babushka (grandma) was aghast pointing at the flag, "My parents died for this flag, and you are stepping on it," as she handed the food back. The Soviet Babushka became an iconic symbol of Russian resistance to NATO and Ukrainian fascism.[20]
According to the Russian Ministry of Defense, to date, the losses of the Armed Forces of Ukraine amounted to about 30 thousand servicemen, including more than 14 thousand KIA. The smuggling of NATO anti-tank weapons into Ukraine forced the Russians to depend upon long range artillery to pulverize Ukrainian forces. Ukraine lacked both the artillery and ammunition to respond. NATO supplies could not compete with the Russian arsenal, and efforts to transport NATO heavy weapons by rail to the front where they were needed led to the destruction of Ukrainian infrastructure and the rail network by the Russian airforce and cruise missiles across the territory.
"My parents died for this flag."[21] The Soviet Babushka quickly became a meme and a legenad as a symbol of anti-fascist resistance.[22] |
On March 25, 2022, the Russian Ministry of Defense officially confirmed that storming of Ukrainian cities was not a priority but rather the destruction of Ukrainian armed forces.[23] Russian troops only entered cities on the independent territories of the DPR and LPR.[24] High-precision weapons were used to suppress the entire military infrastructure of the enemy, the main goal being to exhaust the AFU units and force them to surrender. NATO warlords kept some units fighting, exposing civilians to risk as AFU units used civilians as human shields.
According to reports from The Times of London on March 27, 2022, Zelensky sent a handwritten letter to Putin via Roman Abramovich giving full details about Ukraine's conditions for ending the war. Putin is reported to have responded saying, "Tell him I will destroy him."[25] Abramovich, owner of the Chelsea football club in London and a target of Uk sanctions, suffered a suspected poisoning in Kyiv while preparing for peace talks with Putin.[26]
On March 29, 2022, the Russian Defense Ministry announced it would be reducing offensive operations in the Kyiv and Chernihiv regions. The Armed Forces of Ukraine intensified attacks on civilian infrastructure in the territory of the DPR and LPR.
On March 31, 2022, a group of Russian Airborne Forces were ambushed, detained, disarmed, had their throats slit, and were left to massively bleed out during the Russian withdrawal from Kyiv.[27]
On May 16, 2022, the Kyiv regime suffered a humiliating loss with the surrender of 717 of its elite neo-Nazi fighters and over 1,800 regular troops of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. NATO and the mainstream media propaganda apparatus attempted to hide the defeat of Ukraine's fascist forces from the Western public.
On April 8, 2022, dozens of people were reported to have died in a Ukrainian Tochka-U missile attack on a railway station in the Donbas city of Kramatorsk.[28] The missile was fired from the southwest territory controlled by the Armed Forces of Ukraine. The serial number on the missile identified it as coming from Ukrainian stocks. As in Mariupol, Ukrainian forces denied civilians access to escape in order to use them as human shields in urban combat.
April 11, 2022 was reported to be the worst day of the war for the Zelensky regime thus far, with over 1,100 AFU either killed, wounded, or captured in a single day. When AFU soldiers began to surrender in large groups, reports emerged that the commanders of the nationalist Azov formation, deployed their fighters in other AFU units as political commissars in order to prevent AFU fighters from surrendering.[29] AFU snipers were instructed to shoot AFU soldiers in the back if they were seen running the wrong direction. Bodies of AFU soldiers carrying surrender instructions were found, executed by their own command with a shot in the back.[30] AFU POWs attest to the presence of commissars and a rite of passage for newcomers to a unit which was videotaped - newcomers had to kill either a Russian POW or civilian.[31]
On April 12, 2022, it was reported that Ukraine remains in the state of permanent chaos and security collapse. Regular reports about incidents involving organized crime, looting and shooting appear from almost all areas controlled by Kyiv's forces. Units of the so-called 'Territorial Defense' formed by the Kyiv government are among the main sources of civilian casualties and friendly fire incidents in the Kyiv-controlled part of Ukraine.[32]
On May 1, 2022 Defense Updates reported on the delivery of hundreds of the UK Wunderwaffen Brimstone precision guided missiles to Ukraine. Defense Updates reported:
"UK Foreign Secretary Liz Truss has stated that victory for Ukraine is a "strategic imperative" for the West and Russian forces must be pushed out of "the whole of Ukraine". This is the clearest statement that has been made yet regarding Britain's war aims which have, until now, been limited to stating that President Putin's invasion of Ukraine "must fail and be seen to fail"....The missile has a range of 60+ km or 37+ mi and a maximum speed of Mach 1.3....It has been estimated that Brimstone is 3 times more effective than the AGM-65G Maverick missile against modern tanks, and 7 times more effective than the BL755 cluster bomb. In combat, Brimstone has demonstrated accuracy and reliability "both well above 90 percent"...This capability will fundamentally change the tactical scenario since the Russian forces will now know that they may have to face long-range precision attacks, chances of which were very limited earlier. It is to be noted that The West is sharing critical intelligence with Ukraine which can be used to prioritize and target the most important Russian assets."[33] |
On May 4, 2022 Pentagon officials boasted of having trained 23,000 Ukrainian troops at its former training facility at Yavoriv[34] - most of which had already been destroyed on other fronts by May 2022.[35]
On May 8, 2022, it was reported that the Russians captured a fully intact Brimstone missile which can now be reversed engineered.[36] By the time the "hundreds" of Brimstones are launched against thousands of Russian tanks, a Russian and Chinese version of the Brimstone will likely be available. From that point forward it is only a question of who can produce more, faster. The US and EU's sanction regime against Russia limits the availability of certain component materials needed. Brimstone is a next generation improvement on the American Hellfire missile, bringing Hellfire and Brimstone to the battlefield. On the same day as the disastrous and humiliating defeat and surrender at Azovstal, May 17, 2022, a Russian missile hit a military barrack at Desna, a military base 46 miles northeast of Kyiv, killing 87.[37] The base was hit again in June, this time killing 200.
The 90 Howitzers[38] supplied by the United States to Ukraine had their digital fire control systems removed to avoid capture or being sold to the Russians reportedly. On May 18, 2022, the Russian MOD showed video footage of two American Howitzers knocked out by a suicide drone when it landed between them.[39] The AFU reportedly used the M777 howitzers with 155 mm caliber shells to attack civilians in the city of Donetsk. On May 19, 2022, the CIA-controlled Kyiv Independent finally report that Zelensky claimed Ukraine was losing 100 soldiers daily;[40] others had placed the figure at 500 daily two weeks earlier;[41] still others placed the figure at 400-700 daily.[42]
In early May 2022, Ukrainian commanders withdrew defenders from Popasana in order to send a contingent north to the Russian border to plant a blue and yellow papier-mâché pole in unguarded, desolate territory for a photo-op to be used in their global propaganda campaign ahead of the vote in the U.S. Congress for $40 billion in aid.[43] It was later proven to be a fake filmed in an open field nowhere near the Russian border.
Two months into the fighting on the Donbas front Ukrainian commanders were deserting the men they were leading.[44][45] Many of the conscripts had only two days training, as most of Ukraine's front-line soldiers had either been captured, killed, or deserted and began walking home. Morale in the AFU, as well as in the general society, dropped quickly after the fairy tale of proud and committed soldiers bravely resisting in Azovstal was shattered. On May 22, 2022, 230 AFU members were killed and 33 armored vehicles were destroyed by the Russian Armed Forces, according to the Russian MOD. In the Donetsk People's Republic, the DPR and LPR troops with support from the Russian Armed Forces had liberated and established control over 216 settlements as of this date. War Gonzo reported the presence of two battalions of Polish infantry in the city of Pavlograd in the Dnipropetrovsk region being prepared for further transfer to the Avdiivka front.[46] Pavlograd is the most important transport hub for supplying the AFU in Donbas. Roads run from it to Marinka and the Kramatorsk-Slavic agglomeration. The railway goes towards Avdiivka. Each battalion has four "Rapier" anti-tank guns, as well also American made armored personnel carriers. It was not clear whether they were Polish regulars or mercenaries.[47] A missile attack was launched on a military facility in Pavlograd.[48]
On May 24, 2022 Politico actually reported that the US Department of Homeland Security issued a warning that American white supremacists were traveling to Ukraine so they can gain combat experience from the Ukrainian Nazis.[49]
On May 25, 2022, Kyiv regime spokesperson Alexey Arestovich blamed Germany for Ukrainian losses in the Donbas. Arestovich said,[50]
"Let’s be honest: Russia is now having a tactical success in Ukraine, which threatens to develop into an operational one in the Lysychansk-Severodonetsk direction. How can this be explained? The pace of lend-lease, which we expected a month ago, did not materialize. Not at the expense of American or British weapons, but at the expense of German....The German side, delaying the transfer of military equipment to us, is indirectly to blame for the fact that is happening at the front." |
Arestovich was enraged by a proposal from Italy, Hungary, and Cyprus for an immediate ceasefire and for peace talks to begin[51] as the Donbas cauldron was slammed shut and 15,000 troops faced annihilation: "Go f*** yourselves with such proposals, you dumb f****."[52] Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov reiterated, "Moscow expects Kyiv to accept Moscow's demands and become aware of the de facto situation - the real situation that exists." Former Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych warned that Ukraine is facing a complete loss of its sovereignty with a peoposed merger with Poland: “In 2014 already, Ukraine was designated by certain Western countries as a territory from which a total weakening of Russia should begin…Precisely as a territory, and not as an independent state, not as people wishing to live in peace with all its neighbors, not excluding Russia.”[53]
Russell Bentley, Information Officer, of the Donetsk People's Republic reported:
"on Monday May 30th, in the mid-morning hours, three separate schools in the center of Donetsk were specifically targeted and bombed by heavy artillery of the Ukrainian Army. May 30th is traditionally the last day of the school year in Donetsk, as it is in Russia, and all schools, from kindergartens to universities, hold a celebration called "Last Bell". It is a joyous celebration, with family members attending, everyone dressed in their finest attire, with songs and poems, awards, balloons, flowers, cake and refreshments. It was these ceremonies that were specifically targeted by the Ukrainian Army, at Schools #22 and #13, and Gymnasium #33. The heavy artillery, 152mm and US-supplied 155mm shells, arrived with pinpoint accuracy, right in front of the schools, where hundreds of students, teachers and their families would have been gathered, had the celebrations not been cancelled, precisely because of the danger of ukrop nazi shelling. In spite of the precautions, two teachers, and one little girl, Lilia Ripenko died. There were also multiple wounded. Had the attack turned out as planned, there would have been scores or even hundreds of dead and wounded, many, if not most, would have been school children.[54] |
First reports of a Russian buildup of force west of Kursk in the Russian Federation were reported on May 30, 2022.
In an interview with the Kyiv-based Interfax news agency in late May 2022, Oleksandra Koval, director of the Ukrainian Book Institute (UBI) which is part of the Ministry of Culture and Information Policy of Ukraine, estimated that more than 100 million copies of Russian language books would be removed from Ukrainian public libraries, fully half of all libraries’ holdings.[55] The city council of Nikolaev banned the teaching of the Russian language in schools.[56] According to a 2017 survey, 63% of the population spoke Russian, 7% Ukrainian, and 28% spoke both Ukrainian and Russian equally.[57] The Ukrainian parliament passed a bill to ban Russian-language music.[58]
On June 1, 2022, Russia carried out a nuclear war drill inside the Russian Federation.
On June 6, 2022, the Russian MOD reported the capture of 15 villages without a fight as Ukrainian forces began disobeying the orders of Zelensky, the Ukrainian general staff and their commanders, and retreated along the Seversky Donets line.
On June 8, 2022, Ukrainian losses exceeded 800 for the day. On June 12, 2022, Zelensky signed a decree that supposedly legalized sending untrained members of the Territorial Defense to the front lines as cannon fodder, a practice of the Ukrainian government that had been illegally going on in violation of the Territorial Defense members' contracts for well over a month already. The Kyiv regime turned the weapons it received from NATO and the West on the civilian population of Donbass rather than military targets. There were children among the victims. By June 14, 2022, the Kyiv regime fired a Tochka-Us against civilians in Bryansk, in the Russian Federation, and other artillery attacks along the Russian border.
On June 12, 2022, a Russian Kalibr cruise missile[59] destroyed a very large store of NATO weapons in the Ternopil region.
As of June 15, 2022 the Russian forces had liberated 816 cities, towns and villages. The Russians have been able to form military units out of captured and surrendered Ukrainian fighters, beginning in the Republic of Zaporozhye. The Ukrainian military presented the West with a wish list of heavy equipment that it felt, would not necessarily win the war, but enable them to hold the line against Russian forces. The list included: more artillery pieces than the U.S. Army and U.S. Marine Corps combined possess; more tanks than the United Kingdom and Germany combined possess. The same day, Gen. Mark Milley, chairperson of the U.S. Joint Chiefs of Staff, told a press conference,
"the United States has provided over 6,500 Javelins and 20,000 other anti-armor systems. Collectively, the international community has provided almost 97,000 anti-tank systems. More anti-tank systems than there are tanks in the world,"[60] |
and yet none of it was enough, Zelensky repeatedly asked for more, and the Ukrainian regime itself reported that it was losing 1,000 fighters a day.[61]
On June 17, 2022, the major oil refinery at Kremenchuk was destroyed by Russian cruise missiles.[62]
On June 19, 2022, Zelensky told a group of soldiers in Mykolaiv, "Ukraine will definitely win;"[63] hours later Lt. Gen. Igor Konashenkov of the Russian Ministry of Defense announced that Russian sea-launched Kalibr cruise missiles wiped out the Ukrainian General Staff operating in Mykolaiv and Zaporozhye.[64] 57 top Ukrainian officers were killed in the strike.
The Russian Ministry of Defense reported on June 20, 2022:
"Since 19 May, the 14th mechanized brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine alone has lost more than 2,100 people killed and wounded...Due to the low morale and psychological state of 800 people intended to make up for the losses of this formation, they refused to go to the area of hostilities, accusing the officers of incompetence, bribery and nepotism in the payment of monetary allowances...In addition, in the 10th Ukrainian mountain assault brigade, about 100 servicemen of the reconnaissance unit were removed from combat missions due to mass disobedience to the command and taken to the city of Kremenchug for investigation.” |
Several AFU POWs became instructors for Russian forces on how to use captured NATO missiles, such as the Javelin, NLAW, and Panzerfaust 3.[65][66][67] By one estimate, the Russians had captured more U.S. made Javelin anti-tank missiles than rhe AFU fired at Russian tanks.
Russian Armed Forces consistently fired 50,000 artillery rounds daily;[68] in the whole of Operation Desert Storm, where the ground war lasted only four months, all branches of the United States military fired a total of 60,000 artillery rounds combined.
One of the first uses of the HIMAR rocket launch system given by the United States to Ukraine was to strike a hospital.[69] HIMARs have a firing range of up to 70 kilometers with pinpoint accuracy. Real time intelligence sharing from the United States National Reconnaissance Office, National Geospatial Intelligence Agency, Defense Intelligence Agency, CIA, and National Security Agency to geolocate targets is an act of war on the part of the United States.[70] The United States has committed one third of its stockpile of HIMAR missiles to Ukraine, or about 8,000 missiles. After combat testing in Ukraine, it became known that the Russians had the ability to shoot down HIMAR missiles.
HIMARs, advertised as a wunder waffe which would save the war for Ukraine, are designed to remain stationary on a battlefield in which the United States has air superiority and is not subject to counter-battery artillery fire. Sources say a battery of six HIMARs requires 130 support vehicles, including cranes to lift and load missiles. HIMARs are not designed to play in a 'shoot and scoot' scenario where they set up and fire in two minutes and then immediately withdraw to hide in a shell game from Russians hunting them down.
On June 26, 2022, Russian forces retaliated for the recent Ukrainian artillery shelling of civilians with American Howitzer M777s in the Donetsk and Lugansk Republics which claimed at least 28 lives and more than 100 injured. The Russians struck military and industrial installations in Kyiv, including a factory that produced MLRS. The Russians launched 4 missiles on Kyiv which the Ukrainians were able to shoot down with their S-300 and BUK systems; however once being exposed, the Russians then were able to wipe the city of Kyiv's missile defense system. According to reports, one of the S-300 missiles fell on a residential apartment complex.
The U.N. Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights concluded on June 29, 2022, that the Armed Forces of the Ukraine used civilians as human shields in Stara Krasnyanka when Ukrainian soldiers took up positions inside a nursing home, effectively making the building a legitimate military target.[71]
Four months into the operation veteran Russian frontline war correspondent Alexander Sladkov spoke about what he found to be the condition of the Armed Forces of Ukraine as NATO continued pouring weapons into the country, and Zelensky's relentless stand and fight orders:
"50,000 dead. That's one and half Army Corps or 5 Divisions, or 25 regiments, or 143 battalions. Dead Ukrainian soldiers lie wherever our troops advance. Their funeral services, in my opinion, are inactive. They always leave their dead behind. By the way, in the Soviet Army, in wartime, the regimental band became the funeral team, and the chief of the regiment managed the collection of bodies and the burial. In the Ukrainian armed services, apparently, there is an immoral mess in this case. This is a sign of a clear decay of order and discipline. This is typical of retreating, morally decomposed units. Further going for the Armed Forces of Ukraine will be even sadder. Tragedy awaits them."[72][73] |
The battle for Severodonetsk-Lisichansk metropolitan area ended with the victory of Russian-led forces. The front line of Bakhmut/Artemovsk – Soledar-Seversk became the new hotspot.
On July 4, 2022, the civilian populations of the Russian cities of Belgorod and Kursk came under massive shelling attack by the Armed Forces of Ukraine. At least 5 civilians were killed in Belgorod, and 5 more were injured, including a 10-year-old child. According to Russian media, 3 members of a Ukrainian family from Kharkiv, who moved to Russia after the outbreak of hostilities, died as a result of the attack. Civilian infrastructure was severely damaged. At least 40 houses were damaged, 5 of them were completely destroyed. The attack was carried out with Ukrainian Tochka-U missiles.
On July 5, 2022, five children were killed by Ukrainian shelling in the Donbas.
On July 6, 2022, seven civilians were killed in the Donetsk People's Republic, including three children. 28 civilians were injured, including 8 children. The AFU shelled the residential quarter in the town of Makeevka. As a result of the attack, three children and a man were killed. The victims are an 8-years-old girl, a 7-years old boy and a 17-years-old boy. 10 others civilians were injured, including 7 children. The shelling was carried out by the 25th separate assault brigade of the AFU, commander – Colonel Kurash Evgeny Yuryevich; chief of artillery – Lieutenant Colonel of the Chapter Vladimir Viktorovich. The Russian Investigative Committee opened a criminal case,[74] and the criminals if convicted will face capital punishment when captured by Russian forces. An eyewitnesses described the attack:
“After it calmed down a little bit, I went out on the balcony, looked: there were two children on the playground. A boy and a girl… The girl was still sitting, she was alive. She pulled the boy … Then, when I rushed out… the girl was already lying on the boy." |
Another boy was injured as a result of the shelling in Donetsk. He risked losing his arm but doctors managed to save it.
On July 7, 2022, a Ukrainian shell killed a 30-year-old woman on Stakhanov Street in Donetsk. 10 more people were injured, including a child.
On July 7, 2022, a group of Belarussian neo-Nazi mercenaries were destroyed near Seversk.
On July 7, 2022, the Russian Ministry of Defense reported on the results of the analysis of the military-biological activity of the US and its allies in Ukraine and other regions of the world. The report confirms that:
Larry Johnson[75] summarized reports of the Russian MOD between July 4 and 9, 2022 which by summer 2022 had proven more credible than any information coming from the Ukrainian government, the Pentagon, the D.C.-based Institute for the Study of War, UK sources, or Western mainstream media. A total of 20 specific Ukrainian military forces were hit with missile and artillery strikes during this 6 day period (the numbers include locations identified as a base for foreign mercenaries). 50% of the strikes occurred in the DPR. Kharkiv, which is about 300 miles northeast of Donetsk, accounted for three strikes (4-6 July 4–6, 2022). There was one strike in Zelenodolsk, which is in the Dnepropetrovsk oblast. That missile strike killed 40.
In the Donetsk People's Republic, Russia hit 13 Command Posts (CPs) between July 4 and 6, 2022. In Nikolaev, Russia hit 6 CPs and killed 375 Ukrainians. A Foreign Mercenary base also was hit. The Russian MOD did not report hitting any CPs in the Kharkiv region. However, the missile strikes did result in 535 dead Ukrainian troops. The Russian MOD briefing also provides a summary of military equipment destroyed. For example, the MOD reports that 3,995 tanks and armored combat vehicles have been destroyed. Ukraine started the war with 1472 tanks and 20 tank destroyers.
According to the data and evidence collected by the Russian Foundation for Combating Repression, the Ukrainian military were given direct orders to use weapons to kill against civilians of Donbas.[76]
By July 10, 2022, Ukraine claimed to have mobilized a one million person force. More and more females were appearing on the front line. Ukraine reportedly will have 200,000 females under arms eventually.
According to a July 11, 2022 report in Ukrainian media, Ruslan Onishenko, commander of the now-disbanded Tornado Battalion, was freed as part of Zelensky's scheme to release prisoners with combat experience. Along with an unwavering commitment to fascism, Onishenko is known as a psychopathic sadist who was involved in sexually assaulting children, brutally torturing prisoners, and murder.[77] Onishenko's release follows a February 27, 2022 order by Zelensky to free other convicted former Tornado members like Danil “Mujahed” Lyashuk, a fanatic from Belarus who has openly emulated ISIS and boasted of torturing captives for sheer enjoyment. According to Zelensky's decree, prisoners with combat experience would be allowed to “compensate for their guilt” by fighting in the “hottest spots.”[78]
On July 11, 2022, Russian President Vladimir Putin signed a decree allowing all people living in territories occupied by the Maidan regime to apply for citizenship of the Russian Federation.[79]
On July 13, 2022, the U.S. State Department issued Stage 4 war alert declaring: “Ukraine Travel Advisory: Do Not Travel And Leave Immediately”.[80]
On July 22, 2022, the Russian MOD reported the destruction of a fourth U.S. built HIMAR.[81] The Russian MOD reported that on July 24, 2022, a strike by Russia's Aerospace Forces (VDV) on an ammunition depot in the Dnepropetrovsk region destroyed more than a hundred missiles for the US-made HIMARS Multiple launch rocket system. The missiles cost $3–5 million each. It is also noted that up to 120 Ukrainian military personnel guarding the facility, as well as foreign mercenaries and technical specialists were killed.
On July 25, 2022, it was reported that Ukrainian intelligence and its NATO allies were attempting to bribe Russian pilots with $1 million in cash, EU passports for themselves and their wives, and a comfortable life abroad if they were to deliver a Russian aircraft to Ukraine. Christo Grozov, head of bellingcat.com, was said to be in charge of the operation.[82] In attempting to hijack Russian combat aircraft, Ukrainian intelligence revealed its own air defense layouts by letting it slip what settlements of Ukraine there are the largest number of MANPADS for the pilots to avoid.[83]
In July 2022 Ukrainian-born U.S. congresswoman Victoria Spartz urged Zelensky to fire his chief of staff Andrei Yermak for corruption. Western delivered arms had been disappearing without ever making it to the frontlines,[84] including Javelin missiles, British NLAWs, and German Panzerfausts. Two French built CEASER self-propelled artillery pieces were sold to allied Russian forces for $120,000 as were a US built HIMAR system for $800,000, and missiles for the system for an additional $300,000.
The flow of new international support for Ukraine dried up in July 2022/[85]
On July 20, 2022, the Ukrainians launched 12 HIMAR missiles attempting to knock out the Nova Kakhovka Dam railway bridge. Russian S-400 missile defense system went 12 for 12 in knocking out the missiles fired by the American built Wunderwaffe.
On July 21, 2022, the servicemen of the rifle battalion of the 36th Marine Brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine deployed in Nikolaev published a video in which they reported the brutal murder of a soldier who was beaten to death by Ukrainian officers.[86]
On July 22, 2022, the Russian MOD reported the destruction of a fourth U.S. built HIMAR.[87] The HIMARs cost U.S. taxpayers about $5.5 million per unit, whereas the ZALA Lancet kamikaze drones that destroy them are fairly cheap.[88]
On July 23, 2022, Russian missile attacks destroyed U.S.-delivered Harpoon missiles hidden in grain storage facilities in the port of Odessa.[89]
The Russian MOD reported that on July 24, 2022, a strike by Russia's Aerospace Forces (VDV) on an ammunition depot in the Dnepropetrovsk region destroyed more than a hundred missiles for the US-made HIMARS Multiple launch rocket system. The missiles cost $3–5 million each. It is also noted that up to 120 Ukrainian military personnel guarding the facility, as well as foreign mercenaries and technical specialists were killed. The commander of the Ukrainian 28th brigade was killed. Another video was posted by a marine from the 35th Brigade telling the story of AFU frontline conditions.[90]
Christo Grozov, head of bellingcat.com, was said to be in charge of the operation.[91] In attempting to hijack Russian combat aircraft, Ukrainian intelligence revealed its own air defense layouts by letting it slip what settlements of Ukraine there are the largest number of MANPADS for the pilots to avoid.[92]
By July 26, 2022, after the bridge had been hit with 36 missiles, the bridge was closed to civilian traffic. AFU/NATO forces were attempting to cut off an escape route for Russian forces on the west side of the Dnieper River before its first much publicized "counteroffensive" scheduled for August to convince Western media, public, and governments to keep pumping money and weapons into the failed state. The Ukrainians are said to have 200,000 troops, reservists, conscripts, and Territorial Reserve arrayed against Russian forces on the west bank of the Dnieper River. The entire alleged "counteroffensive" to "retake Kherson" was proven to be another publicity stunt aimed at Western media for propaganda purposes, because the city of Kherson sits on the opposite side of the river from which Ukraine and NATO were destroying all the bridges with HIMARs to gain access to the city.
To much fanfare, the AFU supposedly launched a counteroffensive across the Ingulets River; the next day on July 27, 2022, they were driven back across the river.
On July 29, 2022 Reuters reported the prisoner-of-war camp at Elenovka was hit by a U.S.-built HIMAR,[93] causing the deaths of 40 prisoners and 13 guards and prison employees.[94] At least one hundred other prisoners were injured. Sources reported that captured Ukrainian prisoners-of-war were giving up much critical information on U.S./Ukraine/NATO operations and illegal weapon's transfers, including arms to Kurdish terrorists in Syria to be used against NATO member Turkiye.[95] Ukraine forces on the battlefield attempting to surrender have been documented to have been executed by Ukrainian commanders. A bill was introduced into the Ukrainian parliament granting legal authority to Ukrainian commanders to execute Ukrainian soldiers who wanted to surrender. Morale was reported to have fallen in recent weeks among Azov Battalion detainees at Elenovka as they realized the Kyiv regime was not negotiating their exchange for Russian POWs, and they began giving up more information in exchange for more lenient sentences for war crimes.
On July 31, 2022, it was reported that Ukrainian commander in chief Gen Valerii Zaluzhnyi recommended to Maidan leader Zelensky to cancel NATO's planned Kherson offensive being a waste of time, manpower, and resources.
By the end of July 2022 nearly the entire stock of Soviet-era weapons that Ukraine possessed at the start of the Special Military Operation had been destroyed, and Ukraine had to rely on a reconstituted force of armoured vehicles, artillery, ammunition and other supplies from NATO for its continued operations and autumn counteroffensive. Ukrainian forces were not trained on the use of NATO equipment, so Western trainers accompanied the new supply of weapons.
In late July 2022 Ukrainian and NATO strategists began removing artillery and manpower from Avdiivka, and transferring them to the west bank of the Dnieper for the so-called upcoming "counteroffensive" against the Kherson bridgehead. This action allowed a Russian breakthrough against the heretofore impregnable Avdiivka frontline entrenchment, which held for eight years since 2014 and has been a key artillery firing point against the citizens of Donetsk.
As the breakthrough continued on August 2, 2022, the Ukrainian 54th mechanized brigade lost 50 soldiers to friendly fire. Ukrainian forces completely destroyed members of its own 56th mechanized brigade by artillery fire as they were retreating from the village of Pisky. Ukrainian journalist Yuriy Butusov, who was embedded with the AFU in Donbas, posted an expletive-laden report from Pisky revealing “There is no counter-battery fire, none at all...Russian forces are firing 6,500 shells per f****** village in less than 24 hours...It’s been like this for six days now, and it’s hard to fathom how any number of our infantry remain alive under this barrage...Without counter-battery fighting, it turns into a senseless meat grinder, where huge numbers of our infantry are chewed up in one day...A reserve platoon that tried to advance was taken apart in minutes, with only one out of 15 men left unharmed...All the reserves are spent, the military equipment goes up in flames, and the enemy approaches and takes our positions without any problems after another barrage of artillery...Right now we are losing Péski, all our human and material capabilities are almost exhausted”. Pisky was once a more affluent suburb of the city of Donetsk with 2,000 inhabitants; after the Kyiv regime attacked the Donetsk airport in 2014, the population fell to as low as 6 inhabitants at one point. Russian forces deliberately chose Pisky as a weak point in the Avdiivka front as a breakthrough point specifically because of the low risk of danger to civilians. The collapse of a once prosperous community since 2014 is emblematic of the devastation the U.S.-backed Maidan regime wrought upon the Ukrainian economy and population.
On August 2, 2022, the Ukrainian body count across the front line as it was collapsing was about 1,000. About 250 foreign mercenaries in the Ukrainian foreign legion were killed in Nikolaev.
On August 3, 2022 Amnesty International issued a damning report accusing Vladimir Zelensky and the Zelensky regime of war crimes, saying “Ukrainian forces have a pattern of placing troops and military vehicles in residential areas, including using hospitals as de facto military bases...Such actions violate international humanitarian law and put civilian lives at risk.”[96][97]
On August 6, 2022, the Russian MOD reported killing 80 foreign mercenaries and the loss of 220 members of the AFU 63 Mechanized Brigade, and 400 members of the 45th Airborne Brigade on the Kherson "counteroffensive" front line. Members of the several other AFU brigades refused to follow Ukrainian leadership orders, and deserted. Russian forces began an advance toward Nikolaev and occupied abandoned positions by the AFU forces. Ukraine instituted Gestapo restrictions in the city of Nikolaev, not allowing anyone to enter or exit the city.
As of August 7, 2022 the Russian MOD claimed to have taken 7 of the 16 HIMARs delivered to Ukraine out of service. By the first week of August, the Russians were conducting operations against Nikolaev and moving forward on 6 different fronts.[99]
Between July 11 and August 11, 2022, more than 22,000 Ukrainian fighters were reported to have been killed on the battlefield.
On August 13, 2022, the Russian MOD reported that Ukrainian POWs did not want to be exchanged for fear of being sent to the front lines again.
On August 16, 2022, the CIA mouthpiece the Kyiv Independent reported that Ukraine had passed a new law that branded receiving humanitarian assistance from Russians as "collaborationism," punishable by up to 15 years. Humanitarian assistance can be defined as food, medical, transportation, and any number of thousands of ways one human being can assist another.[100] The Financial Times of London reported that Ukraine's "major counteroffensive" for Kherson, scheduled in August to impress the Kyiv regime's Western backers of its determination and willingness to fight using its Western aid and weapons, had been postponed until next year.[101]
On August 21, 2022, reports of a biochem attack on Russian soldiers came in.
By August 28, 2022, all Ukrainian pilots had been killed. The United States intervened to recruit Afghan refugee pilots who been trained to hire as mercenary pilots.
On August 30, 2022, a scandal was reported among Ukrainian government officials involving the theft of 21 shipping containers, 389 railway cars, and 220 semi-truck loads of humanitarian assistance, as well as cash to provide 240,000 free meals at a cost of $50 each. Only 24 meals were ever given out.[102][103]
By the end of August 2022 Ukrainian sources claimed 10 of 16 HIMARs had been destroyed by Russian forces, and the remainder had been withdrawn from service and placed in reserve.
Ukraine's much ballyhooed "August counteroffensive" began in the early morning hours of August 29, 2022 approximately 36,000 Ukrainians advanced along the 183 km Kherson front, with the loss of 26 tanks, 23 amphibious vehicles, 9 armored vehicles, 2 SU-25 fighter aircraft, and 560 killed in action. The Russians lost 1 tank, 1 Uragan rocket launcher, 1 Pantsir missile system, 2 drones, 9 ammo storage locations and 41 casualties.
On the Ukrainian side of the line of contact, requests went out to the general public for blood donors.
After the NATO-led assault on the Kharkov and Izium front in September 2022,[104] numerous assassinations, sabotage, nuclear blackmail, terrorism plots and continued shelling of the Donetsk and Lugansk Republics killing dozens of civilians - including children with U.S.-built HIMAR missile launcher systems,[105] the Russian State Duma began debating an upgrade of the Special Military Operation to a counterterrorism operation.[106]
Since the capture of Izium in eastern Kharkiv province by the Russians in early April 2022, the civilian population of the city became the target of Grad rockets (many bearing cluster submunitions) on a daily basis by the Kyiv regime. On April 28, 2022, Russian air defense forces repelled an attack by a Ukrainian Tochka-U ballistic missile on residential areas of Izium. The target of the strike was the city hospital, where the Russian medical detachment is located providing assistance to the population of Kharkiv Region. “The Kyiv nationalist regime’s indiscriminate missile strikes on the residential areas of Izium and Kherson are a war crime and a flagrant violation of international humanitarian law,” the Russian Defense Ministry said in a statement. In late August 2022 lockdowns and house-to-house raids in Kharkiv by the Ukrainian gestapo looking for Russian sympathizers were underway.
By the end of August 2022, fighting on Kharkiv front intensified.
On September 4, 2022, the town of Balakleya had no Russian combat troops, only the Special Rapid Response (SOBR) or SWAT units of the Rosguardia (Rosgvardia), which were created to fight organized crime and terrorism and not trained for high-intensity combat.[107] So was a wide swath of towns and village's manned across what became NATO's offensive on the Kharkiv front.
On September 5, 2022, a force of about 9,000 with servicemen from every NATO state began a counteroffensive on the Kharkiv-Izium front toward Kupyansk (pop. 27,000), the administrative center of Kharkiv oblast. With fewer than 1,000 Russian Rosguardia remaining in Izium, all were safely evacuated. There were no Russian army losses because there were no Russian army troops in the region. Whole units of NATO countries engaged in the fighting, who simply changed their chevrons to Ukrainian ones.[108] The NATO/Ukrainian forces were essentially punching at air, knowing there would be no resistance. The Kharkiv counteroffensive took place in tandem with the high-level NATO Ramstein meeting of NATO warlords to discuss continued support for the war in Ukraine. By Day 3 of the Ukrainian offensive, 2,000 Ukrainians had been killed, with a loss of about 40% of equipment received from NATO since last spring.[109] Reports indicated the Ukrainian Gestapo was already engaged in reprisal actions against local civilians. Under a law passed by the Ukrainian parliament in June 2022, any person who accepts food or medical services from Russians is deemed a "collaborator."[110] Streams of civilians were evacuated to Russia during the withdrawal and immediate aftermath during reprisals.[111]
By the end of September 9, 2022 RF reserves halted the Ukrainian advance a few kilometers from the city of Kupyansk. From the south of Izium heavy armored vehicles on the front from NATO countries were advancing to Vernopolye and Dolina. The front stabilized by September 13, 2022. Iranian kamikaze drones were proving to be effective in slowing the NATO/Ukrainian advance.
The success of the September 2022 NATO/Ukraine Kharkov counteroffensive was possible due to NATO/Ukraine forces being able to build up and hide NATO armor and tanks over the previous summer months in heavily forested areas of the Kharkov oblast. However once the counteroffensive was underway, the drive was costly in both manpower and material in just two weeks against a Russian and LPR skeleton force. With the Russian partial mobilization underway, and the depletion and degradation of NATO forces, the outlook for the coming fall and winter Russian offensives by NATO/Ukrainian forces without tree-cover appeared bleak.[112]
By September 23, 2022, Ukrainian and NATO forces lost an additional 3,000 troops in its assault on Liman.
After the NATO-led assault on the Kharkov and Izium front in September 2022,[113] numerous assassinations, sabotage, nuclear blackmail, terrorism plots and continued shelling of the Donetsk and Lugansk Republics killing dozens of civilians - including children with U.S.-built HIMAR missile launcher systems,[114] the Russian State Duma began debating an upgrade of the Special Military Operation to a counterterrorism operation.[115] Between the Kharkov and Kherson counteroffensives, 12,000 Ukrainian and NATO forces were killed. Russian casualties were fewer than 400. Ukraine threw all its strategic reserves into the fight. Due to the magnitude of losses and the approaching seasonal change, Gen. Valerei Zalushni was reported to have advised Zelensky to cease the counteroffensvie and revert to a defensive posture.
On September 26, 2022, NATO naval commandos sabotaged both the Nordstream I and Nordstream II pipelines in Danish water off Barnholm island,[117] guaranteeing that the German people and others throughout the continent would freeze as winter approached. The detachment of US Navy ships led by the amphibious assault ship USS Kearsarge announced the completion of work in the area of the alleged sabotage on gas pipelines. US ships completed their tasks in the Baltic Sea and were spotted heading to the Baltic Straits into the North Sea. President Putin had proposed three weeks earlier to reopen the pipeline to alleviate Europeans home heating crisis[118] while Biden had vowed to end the pipeline.[119]
With the approval of the four treaties of accession to the Russian Federation by the Russian State Duma, the Special Military Operation came to an end. With the incorporation four new Republics into the Federation, Russia found itself under conditions that Russian Military Doctrine describes as the "massive use by the enemy of modern and advanced combat weapons" flooded into Ukraine by the Western powers NATO bloc.[120]
The battle for Severodonetsk-Lysychansk metropolitan area ended with the victory of Russian-led forces. AFU forces suffered about 7,000 casualties in the Battle of Severodonetsk-Lysychansk. The front line of Bakhmut/Artemovsk – Soledar-Seversk, also known as the Zelensky Line, became the new hotspot.
After the strategic withdrawal of 30,000 Russian forces from Ilium and the Kharkov front, by mid-September 2022 the Seversky-Donets front became an active zone of resistance again.
As of September 27, 2022 about the 4,000 Russian forces remained in Liman (pop. 20,000) bridgehead, however the kill ratio of NATO/Ukrainian forces was said to be higher than Kharkov, Kherson, and Lysychansk combined.
Under cover of darkness on September 30, 2022, the NATO/Ukraine encirclement of Liman began.[122] By October 1, 2022, the Russian strategic withdrawal from Krasny Liman was complete. Nearly 4,000 NATO/Ukraine forces were killed in the two week Battle of Liman, nearly 10% of its fighting force in the sector.
As citizens fled the NATO/Ukrainian advance, the Ukrainian regime destroyed a column of civilian vehicles killing at least 80 non-military personnel. The Ukrainian Interior Minister adviser Anton Herashchenkowho, helped found the regime's official Myrotvorets kill list, posted on social media about the massacre of a civilian convoy by the AFU's nazi “Misanthropic Division.”[123]
The "interagency consensus" of the United States government has conducted an armed proxy war against ethnic Russians living in the Donbas for eight years, since 2014.[124] President Donald John Trump was impeached in 2019 by the Democratic party, who control the United States House of Representatives, for going against this "interagency consensus" of the Executive Branch to foment a proxy war between the United States and Russia in Ukraine.[125]
On April 27, 2022, the Exxon corporation declared force majeure, or exemption from liability for its Sakhalin-1 operations which produces about 273,000 barrels of crude oil per day for export to South Korea, Japan, Australia, Thailand and the United States. On April 30, the electrical plant at Sakhalin went up in flames.[126]
Russian military analyst Viktor Litovkin, who is also head of the military news editorial office for the TASS news agency, said in a May 9, 2022 show on Sky News Arabia (UAE) that if the West declares war on Russia or sends soldiers to fight in Ukraine, it would mean all-out war. He said that sending weapons to Ukraine is one thing, but sending Western armed forces to Ukraine would be a different matter altogether. Litovkin added: “Russia has nuclear weapons that can destroy many European and non-European countries.”[128]
The Predator and MQ-9 Reaper drones operate on a satellite uplink. Once it is airborne, the drone can be controlled directly from the United States. That makes the drone operators combatants and legitimate targets.
All told, only the 30 NATO states and another 30 NATO vassal states worldwide support NATO's war on Russia. More than a 2/3 majority of the United Nations General Assembly remain independent or aligned with Russia. Even among the warring NATO states and its subject clients, deep division remain both within the alliance itself, and within the populations of those countries and their colonial subjects whose rogue leaders have led them into war with Russia.
On May 4, 2022, the New York Times reported that NATO was complicit in the assassination of several Russian generals through real time intelligence sharing of geolocation surveillance. At least 10 Generals were reported to have been targeted and killed, and numerous Colonel and Lt. Colonel battalion commanders.[129]
On May 24, 2022, Hungary declared a state of emergency.[130]
On May 28, 2022, Europol, the European Unions law enforcement agency, issued a grave warning that NATO weapons flooding into Ukraine were ending up in the hands of criminal organizations.[131]
Former Clinton era NATO chief Wesley Clark, who waged NATO's first war of aggression against Serbia in 1998, was quoted by the Voice of America, the Russian language edition of Deutsche Welle, and the neo-fascist Euromaidanpress saying in an online discussion organized by the Atlantic Council on June 15, 2022,
"The war in Ukraine cannot be stopped without the direct intervention of NATO, said Wesley Clark, the former commander of the alliance's armed forces in Europe. "The idea that Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg is defending now, and which finds support among other members of the alliance - that NATO can actively not intervene if it is not directly attacked - this idea remained in the 90s. It's time to learn the lessons. NATO must intervene. Let's officially recognize this and order the Russians to cease fire," Clark was quoted as saying by Voice of America. According to the retired US Army general, the alliance should either "go beyond the outlined framework or cease its activities."[132][133][134] |
On August 1, 2022, in an interview published in the UK Telegraph, Ukrainian defense official Vadim Skibitsky acknowledged they consult with Washington before launching strikes and that Washington has veto power over decision-making.[135][136] Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova responded with the statement: “No other confirmation of the direct involvement of the United States in hostilities on the territory of Ukraine is required...They are fully involved…Now Kiev representatives are talking about their military involvement not only through the supply of weapons, but through personnel management in the ranks of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, direct instructions and the choice of targets”.[137]
Ukraine mined its own harbors,[138] with the military advice of NATO, blocking their own export of their own grain harvest.
On April 19, 2022, the Times of London reported that the United States was indeed responsible for the April 13 sinking of the Moskva by relaying information to the AFU on the location of the ship via P-8 Poseidon surveillance aircraft with anti-ship and anti-submarine capabilities.[139] Moskva was positioned near one of 3 drilling rigs, used for monitoring a whole sector of the Black Sea with hydrophones and NEVA-BS radar, the most westward one, BK-2 Odessa, approximately 66 km northeast from Snake Island (Russian: Zmeiny Island). The whole thing was integrated in the regional monitoring systems. According to an article in the Strategic Culture Foundation a source in Brussels told independent journalist Pepe Escobar,[140]
"The Moskva was on combat duty 100-120 km away from Odessa – controlling the airspace within a radius of 250-300 km. So in fact it was ensuring the overlap of the southern half of Moldova, the space from Izmail to Odessa and part of Romania (including the port of Constanta). Its positioning could not be more strategic. Moskva was interfering with NATO’s covert transfer of military aircraft (helicopters and fighter jets) from Romania to Ukraine. It was being watched 24/7. NATO air reconnaissance was totally on it.
As the Moskva “killer”, NATO may have not chosen the Neptune, as spread by Ukrainian propaganda; the source points to the fifth-generation NSM PKR (Naval Strike Missile, with a range of 185 km, developed by Norway and the Americans.) He describes the NSM as “able to reach the target along a programmed route thanks to the GPS-adjusted INS, independently find the target by flying up to it at an altitude of 3-5 meters. When reaching the target, the NSM maneuvers and deploys electronic interference. A highly sensitive thermal imager is used as a homing system, which independently determines the most vulnerable places of the target ship.” As a direct consequence of hitting the Moskva, NATO managed to reopen an air corridor for the transfer of aircraft to the airfields of Chernivtsi, Transcarpathian and Ivano-Frankivsk regions. |
The provocation marked a significant escalation of electronic warfare in international waters and airspace with Russian public opinion and the families of missing sailors demanding a response from their government. On May 23, 2022, it was announced that Denmark would provide an unspecified number of US-made Harpoon anti-ship missiles and launchers to Ukraine.[142] Denmark's supply of Harpoon missiles to Ukraine to fight the Russian Black Sea Fleet sent off alarm bells in the Kremlin, revealing the goals of NATO's "coalition of the willing" for provocative engagements with Russia's Black Sea fleet. Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Andrei Rudenko noted that if foreign warships enter the Black Sea under the pretext of escorting civilian ships with grain, this would inevitably lead to the war between Russia and NATO. Russia would be concerned about escorting ships with grain, especially if they were British ships. On May 25 according to Radio Liberty Moscow offered safe passage of Ukrainian food exports.[143] The Russian Defense Ministry opened the first humanitarian corridor for foreign ships from Mariupol. In a telephone conversation with Austrian Chancellor Karl Nehammer, a neutral intermediary, TASS reported that President Putin said Ukraine should de-mine its ports to ensure free passage of the blocked ships as soon as possible.[144]
In early June 2022, the Russians set up an S-400 surface-to-air missile system on Snake Island.
On June 20, 2022, three oil drilling platforms in the Black Sea west of Crimea were attacked by the AFU, killing 7 civilians. 94 people were rescued, 3 injured, 1 with shrapnel and 2 with burns. 8 people remain missing. The oil platforms are non-military, civilian projects. The Kyiv regime claims residents of Crimea re Ukrainian citizens; the Kyiv regime gave no explanation for murdering its own citizens working on a civilian infrastructure project. Russia's Investigative Committee opened a criminal case on the terrorist attack by Ukrainian troops on the oil drilling platforms. Authorities will find out information about the Ukrainian military who carried out the strikes, and investigators will also establish the manufacturer of the missiles and if NATO is complicit in an act of terrorism.
By late April 2022 in the territory of Moldova, warehouses of military uniforms and shoes, NATO army rations and other auxiliary military equipment were being hastily created and filled from abroad. But not weapons depots. There is no need to import weapons, since when Moldova is occupied by the Romanian army, the latter will "come with everything of its own".[145] The objective appears to be a storage depot in Kolbasnaya of roughly 20,000 tons of munitions left over from the Red Army’s evacuation of former Warsaw Pact countries.[146] There is also information about the concentration of Ukrainian units on the border with Transnistria. Most of Transnistria is no more than 10 kilometers wide. The Transnistrian army has zero chance to counter the offensive for any significant period of time without external support in the event of an attack from both sides (and this is exactly what is being planned, as the Nazi governor of the Odessa region Marchenko has already hinted). Polish, Romanian and Moldovan armed forces are concentrating thousands of troops,[147] while from the east, AFU troops and a group of thousands of foreign mercenaries, including Canadian and Croatian units, fighters from Scandinavian countries, and at least 1,000 fighters from the Turkish far-right organization Grey Wolves are concentrated.
The number of the Operational Group of Russian troops in Transnistria is about 1,300. The Armed Forces of Transnistria count up to 7,500, while the Armed Forces of Moldova count up to 5,200 servicemen with a reserve of 60,000 people. The number of Romanian Armed Forces is up to 70,000.
A joint group of 22,000 – 25,000 Polish-Romanian-Moldovan soldiers would be enough to carry out such an operation in the region. The main combat work will fall on the Romanian and Polish assault units. It is estimated that 6,000 Romanian and 3,000 Polish troops of the rapid reaction forces would be enough.
Military clashes of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation with the Armed Forces of Poland and Romania on the territory of a non-member state of NATO is the perfect scenario for the Kyiv and Washington regimes. In case of the opening of another front in the neighboring country, the AFU counter offensive should be expected in the south of Ukraine with active defense in the East.
This was the main scenario Zelensky was briefed on by Blinken and Austin on April 24, 2022, which follows ongoing international political developments. The preparation and composition of the sixth package of EU sanctions are associated with events in Transnistria. The escalation of the situation in Transnistria corresponds to Washington's statements that the United States is changing course towards Russia, from the desire to exhaust Moscow economic sanctions, to a direct military confrontation. This was announced by Washington after the meeting with Zelensky. Vladimir Putin responded to NATO's challenge on April 27, 2022, in speech to the Council of Lawmakers of the Russian Federation in St. Petersburg:
"if anyone intends to intervene from the outside and create a strategic threat to Russia that is unacceptable to us, they should know that our retaliatory strikes will be lightning-fast. We have the tools we need for this, the likes of which no one else can claim at this point. We will not just brag; we will use them if necessary. And I want everyone to know this; we have already made all the decisions on this matter."[148] |
The expected timing of the scenario is from May 12 to May 25, 2022, or from June 15 to June 25, depending on the actions and successes of the Russian Federation in the Donbas region. Speculation existed that Russian POWs taken in Transnistria can then be bartered for the 4,000 Ukrainian POWs already in Russian hands as well as the 1,500 Azov Nazis still held up in the Azovstal. The NATO occupation of Transnistria would complicate operations on the western flank of the Odessa cauldron.
Provocations
On April 25, 2022, the State Security building and two Russian language broadcast facilities were bombed.[149] Igor Girkin reported that a large number of Romanian soldiers and officers were sent to Moldova under the guise of "Moldovan military". In particular, in all headquarters, a significant part of Moldovan officers were replaced by officers of the Romanian army in all key positions, and in the commandant's companies of military units performing the functions of military police, the entire personnel had been replaced with Romanians.
On May 3, 2022, a quadcopter carrying explosives was intercepted over the TV and radio center in the village of Mayak. On May 5, shooting was reported in the area of a border crossing between Ukraine and Transnistria. Law enforcement agencies confirmed that indiscriminate shooting took place on the territory of Ukraine near the village of Pavlovka, near the village of Kuchurgan, in the area of the railway bridge, which was blown up on March 4. An unidentified UAV dropped two explosive devices in the area of the former airfield near the village of Voronkovo. On May 6, another UAV dropped two explosive devices in the same area. The attack was repeated about an hour later. The UAVs reportedly flew from the territory of Ukraine.
October 14, 2022 Russia began evacuation of civilians from the city of Kherson as Ukrainian sources reported that NATO had gathered a force of 60,000 outside the city. Fears of reprisals against Russian "collaborators" and murder of citizens swept throughout the city should NATO/Ukraine take the city. Another Ukrainian offensive in the region was halted by Russian forces on October 16, 2022.
On October 18, 2022, the AFU/NATO launched a US-made High-speed Anti-Radiation Missile (HARM) and hit the Energia stadium in Novaya Kakhovka, Kherson region, killing two civilians and injuring others. In a late-night TV address a Kherson official called for people to "evacuate the city as quickly as possible" and said Ukraine "will begin an offensive on the city of Kherson very soon." Approximately 50,000-60,000 civilians were being ferried across the Dnieper river. Russian Commander of the Integrated Group of Forces in Ukraine Army General Sergey Surovikin told reporters,
"The NATO command of the armed forces of Ukraine has long been demanding offensive operations in the Kherson direction from the Kiev regime, regardless of any casualties – both in the Armed Forces of Ukraine and among the civilian population.
The Russian military is aware of Kiev’s plans to use “prohibited” means of waging war in the Kherson area, and Ukraine is preparing a massive strike on the Kakhovka hydroelectric plant, located on the Dnieper River, as well as launching massive rocket and artillery attacks on Kherson itself. These actions can lead to the destruction of the infrastructure of this large industrial center and massive casualties among the civilian population. In the ongoing effort to dislodge the Russian military from its positions, Kiev is pouring its reserves en masse into the frontline. The vast majority of those reserves are territorial defense units, who have not been properly trained. Such troops have low morale, thus they are propped up by “barrier squads” composed of hardline nationalists who shoot anyone trying to leave the battlefield. The enemy’s losses amount to 600 to 1,000 casualties daily. We have a different strategy. We are not aiming at fast-paced offensives, we spare every soldier and methodically grind the enemy’s attacking forces. This not only minimizes our own losses, but also significantly reduces the amount of victims among the civilian population. The enemy is the criminal regime that pushes Ukrainian citizens towards death. We are one people with Ukrainians and only wish for Ukraine to be a state independent from the West and NATO and friendly towards Russia."[150] |

On the morning of October 19, 2022 the Ukrainian military launched another large-scale offensive with at least two battalions of the 128th Mountain Assault Brigade of the AFU, reinforced by a tank battalion of the 17th Brigade. A total of about 50 armored vehicles were reportedly deployed by the AFU in their offensive. By noon, the AFU transferred reserves to the battlefield. They included two companies of the 28th brigade and a tank company of the 56th motorized Infantry Brigade. At least two battalions of the 60th Separate Infantry Brigade, which are reinforced by foreign militants from the USA, France, Belgium and Canada also took part in the offensive. According to the Russian MOD, all attacks were repelled with large losses on the NATO/Ukraine side.
A Russian computer simulation anticipated the effects of NATO/Ukraine's planned destruction of the Nova Kakhovka dam across the Dnieper river on the city of Kherson and surrounding environs all the way to the river's mouth on the Black Sea. The territory is the home of some 300,000 civilians. The simulation anticipated a rise in the river's level of 1.5 meters, with a cresting wave of 4.5 meters. The water would take at least 3 days to recede during which time the NATO/Ukrainian offensive toward what was formally the city of Kherson would commence.[152]
In March 2022 Russia accused Ukraine of gathering nuclear waste from the Chernobyl disaster site for use in a nuclear dirty bomb.[153]
On October 19, 2022, UK defense minister Ben Wallace flew to Washington, D.C. to discuss an important matter face-to-face with unknown persons that could not be handled over NATO's regular electronic secure communications. Neither Washington nor the UK defense ministry issued a press release on the substance of the discussions. On October 21, Russian defense minister Sergey Shoigu had his first phone call with US defense minister Lloyd Austin since May 2022. According to the Russian Ministry of Defense read out on the call, the two "discussed issues of international security, including the situation in Ukraine."
On October 23, 2022, at 1:30 PM Moscow time it was reported that Russian defense minister Shoigu conveyed to his French counterpart his concerns about possible provocations by Ukraine with the use of a nuclear dirty bomb. At 2:46 PM local time another update from the Russian Ministry of Defense (MOD) reported that defense minister Shoigu conveyed to his Turkish counterpart his concerns about a possible provocation with the use of a dirty bomb. At 5 PM local time there was a third conversation between the Russian defense minister and the minister of defense of the United Kingdom about the possible provocation by Ukraine with a dirty nuclear bomb. At 6:30 PM local time there was a final conversation between Shoigu and the Biden minister defense.
Russian media reported that according to credible sources in various countries - including in Ukraine - the Kyiv regime is preparing a provocation on its territory related to the detonation of the so-called "dirty bomb" or low-yield nuclear weapon. The purpose of the provocation is to accuse Russia of using weapons of mass destruction.[154] According to the Russian Ministry of Defense, Volodymyr Zelensky has been in contact with the UK "to obtain nuclear weapons technology," Lieutenant-General Igor Kirillov, Chief of the Radiation, Chemical and Biological Protection Troops of the Russian Armed Forces said on October 23, 2022. Gen. Kirillov alleged that the Ukrainian Armed Forces (AFU) plan on using a false flag provocation to detonate a "dirty bomb," a nuclear weapon with explosives, such as dynamite, with radioactive powder or pellets. The provocation was being prepared to subsequently accuse Russia of using weapons of mass destruction. "We have information about the contacts of the office of the President of Ukraine with representatives of Great Britain regarding the possibility to obtain a technology to build nuclear weapons,” Gen. Kirillov said.[155]
