Wicked

From Conservapedia

Wicked is a Broadway musical based on the novel Wicked: The Life and Times of the Wicked Witch of the West by Gregory Maguire.[1] The musical debuted on October 30, 2003, at the Gershwin Theatre.[2] It has been on a successful tour ever since, celebrating many years of "going green."

The Plot[edit]

Gregory Maguire's novel is based on the original The Wonderful Wizard of Oz by Lyman Frank Baum.[3] The story tells the origins of the relationship between the soon-to-be Wicked Witch of the West, Elphaba, and the Good Witch of the North, Glinda. The girls meet at Shiz University, where they are both attending college. Elphaba is an intelligent young woman who speaks her mind and is vastly misunderstood for the color of her skin - green. Glinda, or Galinda as she is called, is beautiful and ever so popular. The novel revolves around these two's friendship and the hardships they go through to earn the titles we later see in the Wizard of Oz.[4]
