Notara is a small village of 1089 hectares in Bundi Tehsil in Bundi district, also known as a city of stepwells in the State of Rajasthan, India.[1] The village is administrated by a sarpanch who is elected representative of the village by the local elections. Notara depends on LAKHERI, the nearest town for all major economic activities.[2] The village has government-provided water facilities that include Two taps, One Well supply, Two tanks, One tubewell, and One handpump. The villagers also acquire water from some of the natural water sources - Two rivers, One canal and Two springs. Notara is also surrounded by Two lakes. The population of the village depends on the source of drinking water during summer on Handpump. Notara's pin code is 323021[3], and village code is 02742600. The area of Notara is segregated as 784.7 hectares irrigated area, 83 hectares unirrigated, the 142 hectare area under culturable waste (including gauchar and groves), and remaining 79 hectare area not available for cultivation.

Notara has One post office (Notada B.O). Notara has Two banks, One credit society and One agricultural credit society for the regulation of economic activity. The village is also equipped with Two recreational centers.

The village has an uninterrupted 24 hours electric supply from a power grid.

Demographics[edit]

Notara is a census village in the district of Bundi, Rajasthan. The village has a total population of 1365 and has total administration over 300 houses which are connected to supplies basic amenities like water and sewerage.

  • Notara has 171 children, 84 boys and 87 girls.
  • Scheduled caste counts for 483 (35.38%) males constitute 249 (18.24%) of the population and females 234 (17.14%).
  • Scheduled tribe counts for 333 (24.40%) males constitute 175 (12.82%) of the population and females 158 (11.58%).

The workforce is 413 male, 221 female with 247 (38.96%) of all workers being employed full-time, this includes 234 males and 13 females. 189 males and 9 females are considered as the main cultivators with the help of 36 male and 2 female agricultural labor. 387 people are reported to work for a marginal period of time in the year.

They depend on the agricultural markets (Mandi) of the nearby towns of LAKHERI and Bundi to sell carpets and make their living.
