Bass Guitar

From Conservapedia
An electric bass guitar

Bass guitars are typically designed like electric guitars, the difference being that usually they only have 4 strings. Bass guitars are tuned in 4ths (E-A-D-G from low to high) an octave lower than the four lowest strings of a guitar.

Can be played with either fingers (often used in older playing styles, but still common today), but can also be played with a plastic pick/plectrum.
