The Doctor of Pharmacy is a professional degree, as opposed to a graduate degree [1]. In order to be a pharmacist in the United States one must have a Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.) degree from an accredited college or school of pharmacy [2]. In addition, the United States Department of Labor states: "A license is required in all States and the District of Columbia, as well as in Guam, Puerto Rico, and the United States Virgin Islands" in order to practise [3].
