Anagogical

From Conservapedia

Anagogical, from Greek Anagoge, sometimes spelled anagogy, is a Greek word suggesting a "climb" or "ascent" upwards. The anagogical is a method of literal interpretation of spiritual statements or events, especially scriptural exegesis that detects allusions (suggestive references) to the afterlife.

According to St. Thomas Aquinas the senses of scriptural meaning are four: the literal and the spiritual, the spiritual sense of scripture divided into the allegorical, the moral, and the anagogical.
