Evelyn Robert Adrian de Rothschild (born 29 August 1931, United Kingdom)[1] is a British banker, and is a part of the Rothschild family. Evelyn was the only son of Anthony Gustav de Rothschild (1887-1961) and Yvonne Lydia Louise née Cahen d'Anvers, and is currently married to Lynn Forrester de Rothschild. Evelyn's net worth is an estimated $20 billion,[2] in which he mostly acquired through his family wealth, as well as being the current financial adviser of Queen Elizabeth II after he was knighted in 1989, and as well as through several other of his companies and organizations.
Evelyn initially learned at Harrow School, London, and later studied history at Trinity College of Cambridge University, although he dropped out before earning his degree. Despite dropping out, this didn't stop Evelyn from becoming director of de Rothschild Frères in 1968, and then becoming the bank chairman of Victor Rothschild. He also became the director of Lord Beaverbrook's newspaper group, the newspaper Daily Telegraph, De Beers Consolidated Mines, IBM United Kingdom Holdings Limited, as well as chairman of The Economist and British Merchant Banking & Securities House Association, The European Association of Banking and Financial History and Princess Royal Trust for Carers. Outside of his businesses, he is the Governor of the London School of Economics and Political Science and a Member of the Council of the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art, as well as a trustee of the Shakespeare Globe Trust. Evelyn is also Deputy Chairman of Milton Keynes Development Corporation.[3] Evelyn has interests in supporting charities, as well as the advancement of education and medical research.
Evelyn also got married very early in his life, initially to a women named Jeannette Bishop, however this marriage soon ended up in divorce. Two years later, Evelyn got married later again to Victoria Lou Schott, and had three children with her. Unfortunately, this marriage also ended up in divorce, until he finally married his current wife, Lynn Forrester de Rothschild.[4]
