Solomon Abraham Lischinsky economist, was a member of the Washington Chapter of American Peace Mobilization. In 1942 Leshinsky worked for the Select Committee Investigating National Defense Migration of the U.S. House of Representatives (the Tolan Committee). The Dies Committee discovered that practically all staff members on the Tolan Committee, excluding the Congressmen, where either illegal members of the CPUSA or followers of the Communist Party line. Later on he worked for the United Nations Relief and Rehabilitation Administration (UNRRA). Leshinsky was a member of the Perlo group of Soviet spies.

Solomon Aaron Lischinsky was born in Canada to Jewish parents of Ukrainian descent. A mathematician by training, he worked as a statistician and economist for the State Department and for the United Nations Relief and Rehabilitation Administration (UNRRA)and was a member of the Washington Chapter of American Peace Mobilization. In 1942 Lischinsky worked for the Select Committee Investigating National Defense Migration of the U.S. House of Representatives (the Tolan Committee). The Dies Committee discovered that practically all staff members on the Tolan Committee, excluding the Congressmen, where either illegal members of the CPUSA or followers of the Communist Party line. He was one of those unfortunate victims of the Red Scare—innocent in fact, but "guilty by association" since many of his friends were members of the Communist Party USA. Harry Magdoff, Harold Glasser, Charlie Kramer were all friends of his. Elizabeth Bentley "named" him in 1948 or so, at which point he moved out of Washington to a farm in Virginia to escape the limelight. . He was an inventor, with his most successful product a cup designed for babies.
