The Los Angeles Times is a well known liberal daily newspaper based in Los Angeles. Serving a large metropolitan market, it has one of the highest circulations of any newspaper nationwide, and even reaches into other parts of southern California, having a version for San Diego County for instance.

In 2018, the Los Angeles Times was purchased by the billionaire Soon-Shiong family,[1] who are Chinese who fled to South Africa during Japan's occupation of the country during World War II.

First published as the Los Angeles Daily Times, it was founded in 1881 and has won 39 Pulitzer Prizes through 2009.

The Los Angeles Times was the first to do an in-depth story about Conservapedia.

Cover Up[edit]

In 2008, the Times found itself in the center of controversy when news was released that there was a video of then candidate Barack Obama and Rashid Khalidi.[2]

The Times has stood by its cover up of this tape.[3]
