From Conservapedia Muralism is a Mexican modernist painting School started during the first decades of the XX century. Diego Rivera, José Clemente Orozco and David Alfaro Siqueiros were the most important artists in the Mexican mural movement. Dr. Atl, Rufino Tamayo, Jorge González Camarena, Roberto Montenegro (pioneer of the movement) and Manuel Rodríguez Lozano made also significant murals. Saturnino Herrán is considered a precursor of this movement.
In 1910, Gerardo Murillo (Dr. Atl) painted the first modern mural in Mexico.
