Afrikaans Language

From Conservapedia

Afrikaans or also Cape Dutch is a West Germanic language and an official language of the country South Africa and the lingua franca in Namibia. Although Afrikaans is very similar to Dutch, it is clearly a separate language, differing from Standard Dutch in its sound system and its loss of case and gender distinctions. it's a so-called daughter language of Dutch and Dutch speakers can understand Afrikaans with a little difficulty and vice versa. It's the first language for approximately 7.2 million people.[1]
