Turin (Italian: Torino) is an important city and a major business and industrial center in Piedmont, a region of Northwestern Italy. Its population is about 909,700 inhabitants. From 1861 to 1865, it was the first capital of Italy.

The Shroud of Turin is kept in the Cathedral of Saint John the Baptist, and attracts many pilgrims every year.
