Over Easy is an American DJ/producer duo that makes Electronic dance music and is made up of James Sullivan and Max Press. The New York City-based duo gained popularity for their remixes, original discography & live performances. The duo is notable for their 2021 single “ Anywhere Tonight” and was released on Hardwell label imprint Revealed Recordings [1][2]. The duo has releases on Big Beat Records[3], Revealed Recordings[4], Astralwerks[5], Dim Mak Records[6] and Universal Music Group [7][8]
Sullivan grew up in West Bloomfield Township, Michigan, MI, while Press grew up in Montville, New Jersey, NJ. Both families still live in their respective areas. They met each other while attending Michigan State University where they formed the Over Easy project, and graduated in 2016[9]. While at Michigan State University, Sullivan was a member of the Michigan State Baseball team from 2012-2014[10] Formerly, the duo has lived in Michigan, Chicago, and more recently New York City. The duo currently resides in Brooklyn, NY and has been there since 2018.
The duo draws inspiration from many different styles of music, including pop music, Hip hop music, rock and roll, house music and today's Electronic dance music. Some of their influences include Martin Garrix, Avicii, Calvin Harris, and Alan Walker. Sullivan and Press has garnered major support from electronic dance music staples such as Brooks (DJ), KSHMR, Two Friends (DJs), Cheat Codes (DJs), among others.
Over Easy has released many singles and remixes[11] for Electronic dance music labels including Warner Music Denmark|Warner Music[12], Big Beat Records (American record label)|Big Beat[3], Astralwerks[5], Revealed Recordings, Mixmash Records & Proximity.
In 2020, Over Easy began adding elements of progressive house into their music with the release of "Sleeping" together with Caitlin Linney|Linney[13]. The song was notably featured in Two Friends (DJs)|Two Friends - Big Bootie Mix 019[14]
In 2021, Over Easy played the main stage at Electric Zoo[15]
