James Dean (Feb 8,1931 - Sept 30, 1955) was a popular American actor who died in a car crash at age 24, at the peak of his fame. His style of vulnerable yet brash masculinity was an imitation of Marlon Brando. Germaine Greer speculates that Dean was gay.[1][2]
Three of his best-known roles were in the films East of Eden (1955), Rebel Without a Cause (1955), and Giant (1956).[3]
