Lavender is a common
herb from the
mint family. It is a short, bushy
plant with light green stems and elongated purple blossoms. Lavender is widely used as a
fragrance, but also has many healing properties such as: promoting healing, reducing swelling, easing headache pain, and soothing insect bites and stings. Its early use as a medicinal drug for the
gout, has been discredited in modern times.
