Traditional Protestant Episcopal Church

The Traditional Protestant Episcopal Church (TPEC) was an American Protestant Episcopal church that espoused the Protestant theology that was characteristic of Anglicanism at an earlier time. It subscribed to the Thirty-Nine Articles of Religion. Although the Traditional Protestant Episcopal Church counted a half-dozen parishes in the early years of the twenty-first century, ecclesiastical battles within the denomination, between 2008-2009, attempted to change key components of her Anglican identity when recently consecrated assisting Bishop, Rt. Rev. Delbert Murray, sought to make the denomination Presbyterian and hyper Calvinist. The Presiding Bishop, Rt. Rev. Charles Morley, requested and was received, along with remaining clergy, into the Anglican Orthodox Church as the Diocese of the Advent to ensure faithful Anglican teaching was preserved.^[1]
